"Grant me the courage to serve others; For in service there is true life." - César Estrada Chávez
Since the spring of 2012, Omega Delta Phi organizes an annual day of service to commemorate the legacy of César Estrada Chávez. The Alpha Alpha Chapter works with several offices at Northwestern University and various organizations cross the Evanston and Chicagoland communities in order to create meaningful service experiences for its volunteers. In 2016, over 700 hours were dedicated to serving the communities. In the five years since its implementation, over 3000 hours have been dedicated to service.
If you are a service-oriented organization looking for volunteers, please do not hesitate to contact the chapter at nu.odphi@gmail.com. Thank you!

Our First César Chávez Day of ServiceIn 2011, Brother Anthony Iglesias decided to enrich the Northwestern campus and Chicagoland community through the celebration of the life of late activist, César Estrada Chávez. After months of preparation, networking, organizing, the Northwestern community finally celebrated Chávez's legacy through service on Saturday March 31st, 2012. More than 95 volunteers from across the Midwest served the communities of Evanston, Pilsen, Back-of-the-Yards, and Skokie. Sponsors and partners included the Northwestern Latina/o Studies Program, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, the Department of Hispanic/Latino Student Affairs, the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR), Uniting America, Evanston Public Library, Holy Cross/Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, and the St. Pious Soup Kitchen of Pilsen.
